COVID-19 SAFETY POLICY:

AS OF MARCH 4, 2022

Our top priority is protecting the health of our community. We directly used the stated preferences of the community to develop this policy—for example, 92% of people indicated that if vaccination is not required, they would not attend. Also, the particular nature of this retreat (for example, singing in song circles) makes masking extra challenging, so we developed our policy to allow for the avoidance of masks. Please note: We reserve the right to adjust this policy at any time, depending on what happens with the virus, the CDC’s current guidelines, the levels of community transmission in Chester CT, etc. We are navigating the many challenges entailed in safely gathering together for the first time since Covid-19 became a reality—please bear with us.

Our Covid-19 Safety Protocol is as follows:

1) VACCINATION REQUIRED:

  • At the time of payment/enrollment in April, all attendees must email proof of vaccination (i.e., a photo of your vaccination card) to newenglandsongwritersretreat@gmail.com. We cannot enroll you if you do not email proof.

  • Upon arrival at Guest House on September 2, all attendees must physically present proof of complete vaccination (vax+booster/s). We cannot admit you to the retreat if you do not present proof.

2) NEGATIVE RAPID TEST REQUIRED:

All attendees must agree to take a rapid self-test on the morning of Friday, September 2. Upon arrival at Guest House, all attendees must physically present their negative rapid self-test. We cannot admit you to the retreat if you do not present your negative test.

3) MASKING IS OPTIONAL:

Because of the protection provided by vaccination and testing, masking during the retreat will be optional.

4) SICK POLICY:

All attendees must agree to notify Ellis and Laurie immediately at any sign of illness. Then we will determine together how to safely proceed.
